UT receives $209,126 to study deadly fish disease The Toledo Blade (7/11) The Lake Erie Center at the University of Toledo has been awarded a $209,126 federal grant to study a deadly fish disease that has threatened the health of many species of Great Lakes fish. The grant will fund a two-year study into viral hemorrhagic septicemia, or VHS. Avoid Canadian fines; use artificial baits Detroit Free Press (7/6) Ontario regulations make it unlawful to import live minnows into Ontario from any state or province. Ontario is trying to stop new diseases from spreading to inland lakes.
