Re: Looking for dry cleaning industry statistics

Laura --- Good national statistics on perc usage by dry cleaners are
available at http://www.tcata.org/news-perc-survey.html

The amount of that perc that ends up in waste is somewhere between 45%
and 80%. The South Coast Air Quality Management District tracked perc
use and waste for two dozen shops and found that between 46% and 50% of
the perc ended up in the waste.

Still bottoms and cartridge filters account for almost all of the
PCE-containing waste. According to IFI, the dry cleaners association,
40-60%, by volume, of the still bottoms are perc (depending on whether
steam is injected to recover perc).

Let me now if you need references.
